By Jessica Barlow on 14 May 2012

Name: Elizabeth Muldoon Age: 23 Occupation: Student/ Activist How would you describe yourself and your life? ep review: eliza hull, dawn

By Stephen Benko-Nehme on 14 May 2012

The debut EP from Melbourne’s Eliza Hull is precisely certain of what it is and what it should sound like. Dawn rarely deviates from its intent, but why should it? As a work crafted over three years from an artist new to solo musicianship, it’s a strong message. A love note of sorts; to tenderness, [...]

lip top 10: myths surrounding menstruation

By Melissah Comber on 14 May 2012

So it’s that time of the month and you’re feeling crappy. If you were living in any other historical period you may just well find yourself segregated from the rest of your community, you know, just to make you feel good about it. Oh, and you’ll be told that your menses is poisonous. The belief [...]

live music review: the darkness, thebarton theatre, 12 may 2012

By Serrin Prior on 13 May 2012

The Darkness, a band that some may remember from mid-last decade for their hits ‘I Believe In A Thing Called Love’ and ‘Love On The Rocks With No Ice’, or for lead man Justin Hawkins’ penchant for aerobics outfits and feather boas, broke up in 2006. Luckily, they have recently reformed to go on tour [...]

five things women can’t do

By lip magazine on 13 May 2012

1. Know anything about a car, except its colour. This one often comes up at the small gatherings I am more reluctant to attend, in the form of some narrow-minded guy wearing a shirt with an obnoxiously large logo feeling the need to start a conversation about his ideas. During this conversation he will unfailingly [...]

Bass player with The Milkman’s Union by day, solo artist by night – Jeff Beam of Portland, Maine, is a busy man. learning to love melbourne

By lip magazine on 11 May 2012

It took me six months to become accustomed to Melbourne. To feel comfortable and not foreign. To not wander the streets weaving in-between people with muttered apologies. To not notice that every living thing in Melbourne moved faster than I did. I got used to the weather, the sudden changes, the bitter cold, the lack [...]

    FEMALE PERCEPTIONS PROGRAM

Every woman’s got one, but what exactly should they look like?

We are conducting a study to examine women’s perceptions of normality and abnormality in a very personal part of the anatomy - women’s genitalia. Taking part in the study involves viewing a range of images of women’s vaginas.

Understanding women’s opinions of what is normal is vital to help understand and promote positive body image. We are seeking women between 18 and 30 who are willing to give us half an hour of their time. Note that the study involves viewing and rating a series of explicit images.

This study forms part of a PhD research project being conducted at The University of Queensland. The study has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the School of Psychology.

If you are interested in taking part in this confidential study please contact Claire on 04000 65945 / c.moran1@uq.edu.au, School of Psychology.
