15 minutes of femme: sally hawkins

By Madison Deckert on 25 January 2012

I like to think that I’m a fairly happy and easy going person, but from time to time (before, during and after menstruation) I do get a bit moody… I’ve been known to cry at silly things and my dad knows to avoid me completely in these times. I also admit to having serious road [...]

15 minutes of femme: zooey deschanel

I’ve been getting into the Christmas spirit this week: learning Christmas carols on the piano, wrapping the last of my presents, baking biscuits and singing along to my Christmas playlists at home and in the car. As is the tradition every year, my family’s favourite Christmas movies have come out of storage and are now [...]

15 minutes of femme: karen carpenter

By Madison Deckert on 11 December 2011

Music has always been a big part of my life. When I was growing up there were always certain albums on repeat in my household. Having a proud Irish mother, these albums included The Corrs, anything by Van Morrison, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance soundtrack (no, I’m unfortunately not joking) and a compilation CD [...]

    FEMALE PERCEPTIONS PROGRAM

Every woman’s got one, but what exactly should they look like?

We are conducting a study to examine women’s perceptions of normality and abnormality in a very personal part of the anatomy - women’s genitalia. Taking part in the study involves viewing a range of images of women’s vaginas.

Understanding women’s opinions of what is normal is vital to help understand and promote positive body image. We are seeking women between 18 and 30 who are willing to give us half an hour of their time. Note that the study involves viewing and rating a series of explicit images.

This study forms part of a PhD research project being conducted at The University of Queensland. The study has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the School of Psychology.

If you are interested in taking part in this confidential study please contact Claire on 04000 65945 / c.moran1@uq.edu.au, School of Psychology.
