Kyle Sandilands has caused outrage again by making crude comments about Lorde’s relationship with fellow songstress Taylor Swift.

In an interview with ‘The Kyle & Jackie O Show’ the 17-year-old was due to talk about her upcoming Australian tour. But the conversation quickly moved to Lorde’s personal life when Sandilands interrogated her about her friendship with Swift.

‘Are you bringing your new bestie, Taylor Swift?’ he asked. ‘I see you guys’ pictures everywhere. Are you guys like, uh, are you together now?’

After silence from Lorde, he continued to clarify his question. ‘Not together as in lesbians. I’m not talking about “Ellen together”.’

Sandilands stressed that he was curious about their friendship, but Lorde wasn’t having any of it.

‘What do you mean you’re not talking about “Ellen together”?’ she asked. ‘Is there something wrong with lesbians?’

At this point, it would have made sense for Sandilands to try and rectify the situation. But we all know that isn’t his style.

‘Oh my god no, I would love that!’ he responded. ‘Are you going to confirm now you’re in a lesbian relationship with her?’

Proving to be far more mature than Sandilands, Lorde replied, ‘Don’t even try it. It’s not working.’

Unfortunately, he continued. He referred to Swift as a ‘gorgeous creature’ and said that it was no wonder the two singers got along so well. ‘Don’t go overboard with explaining the friendship, though. We haven’t got all day,’ he said at the end of the interview.

Lorde made it clear that she’d had more than enough of the conversation. ‘I won’t,’ she said. ‘Believe me.’
