On top of the already shocking (and disgusting) crack downs regarding homosexuality in Russia recently, mayor of Sochi, the city set to host the Winter Olympics, has told BBC Panorama that ‘we do not have [homosexuals] in our city.’

Anatoly Pakhomov wants the gay Olympians that are going to compete in his city to be aware that they’ll be the ‘only gay people in the city.’

On a side note, there are a few ‘rules’ the Russian authorities want the gay Olympians to know about. Namely, they will be expected to ‘respect Russian law’, and they must not impose their ‘gay habits’ on others.

When further challenged on his comments about Sochi, Pakhomov replied, ‘I am not sure [if there are homosexuals here], but I don’t bloody know them.’

Bravo, Mayor of Sochi.

He obviously didn’t talk to the BBC reporter who spent the previous evening inside a Sochi gay bar that – surprise – had gay people in it.
