‘Show Your Texts’: Women-Only Poetry Slam

Canberra-based lip-sters will be pleased to know that Traverse Poetry, an artsACT-funded youth organisation, is holding another of its Poetry Slams on Friday 29 May.

Show Us Your Texts celebrates the contribution women have made to poetry in Canberra culture. Only women will be asked to perform at the event, but a co-ed audience is more than welcome.

The poetry slam will kick off with an unrestricted open mic followed by the slam itself, which will give three audience members have the chance to score poets out of 10 on their
poems’ content, delivery, and popularity with the crowd.

Traverse Poetry Slams are held on the last Friday of every month at The Front Gallery
& Café, Wattle Street, Lyneham ACT. $3 entry, free for performers.
