Blazer| How to Wear Them And Which Ones To Wear
I adore blazers because not only are they are super comfortable but they can be worn with just about anything from skirts to shorts to dresses to jeans. A blazer is also one of the easiest ways to spice up a boring outfit – and you can choose what fabrics, color and fit you prefer as there as so many out there. Here are some of my favorite blazers that I would recommend to anyone looking for one:
Plastic Island Gala Blazer: I prefer boyfriend blazers to fitted ones, but this PI blazer is absolutely gorgeous. I love that it is ever-so-slightly cinched in at the waist (which, by the way, does wonders for your shape) and the exaggerated shoulders. This sateen-twill blazer is definitely a must-have in every girl’s closet. You can find yourself one here.
Lucy in The Sky Studded Blazer: The super preppy colors (light grey with a pastel pink lining) and put together with the studs is an adorable, if oxymoronic, combination. I like the fact that the studs aren’t too big or shiny as it keeps the blazer from looking too ostentatious.
White Heat Blazer Aryn K. – Nothing says chic like this simple, white boyfriend blazer from Aryn K. Head over to blufly where they have an amazing discount on this one!
Gryphon Studded Blazer – This studs in in this one are more prominent than in the Lucy in The Sky version but it isn’t too overwhelming because the color and cut and very simple. It is sold out at Shopbop but this one is definitely worth doing some ebay scouting over.
The best way to wear a blazer, in my opinion, would be with a pair of jeggings or jeans (depending on what you are more comfortable in) and a simple Tee. Blazers also look fabulous when worn with body-con dresses or with short shorts and Tee shirts. Keep in mind that if what you are wearing is right fitted, it is best to go with a boyfriend or slouchy blazer but if you are wearing something like a bubble dress or a tutu, a fitted blazer is a better option. Also, if your outfit is one the more simple side, a sequined or studded blazer is just what you need to keep it from being too boring but if your outfit is sequined or studded, a simple blazer is what you need.
Blazers are also great for those of you who, like me, are not too big on accessories – if you are wearing a blazer you dn’t really need to wear rings, bangles or necklaces; just a handbag or clutch will do fine.
