A letter from the editor

Dear readers,

Hello, you! It’s lovely to see you all here, reading, commenting and contributing to lip. This year has been a big one for us already, and the past week in particular was packed with shenanigans.

Wednesday the 30th marked the launch of our 19th issue, edited by Rachel Longhurst, and designed by Jen Spiers and Michelle Lovi. The magazine looks amazing, and a huge thanks is due to all three of these wonderful women for their hard work. Thanks also, as always, to our dutiful staff, and our many contributors as well, for filling our pages with such interesting words and art!

The launch party was held at Smith’s Alternative Bookshop in Canberra, a wonderful little store full of interesting books, zines, and more. Smith’s were very supportive, and we had a great night listening to the tunes of Bec Taylor and Brooke Fensom, drinking some wine and raising some money for the magazine.

On Saturday, lip attended the Canberra Zine fair, where we once again had a very successful day of selling magazines. We met some great people, and bought some pretty rad zines for ourselves as well.

Lip can be found at Smiths, Impact Comics, or online. Subscribers can expect their copies in the mail very soon, as can contributors. If you haven’t already, order a copy from our online store!
