fashion : pleasure doing business
Every fashion year has its key trends – one trend this year is bandage skirts and dresses. We’ve all seen them on the Herve Leger runway and “ooh-ed” and “aah-ed” at them while hoping that we, by some miracle, manage to find $2000 just sitting in our bank accounts waiting to be spent on one of those lovely pieces. Since I am not quite patient enough for that, I set out to look for the next best thing which was when I ever-so-fortunately stumbled across Pleasure Doing Business.
This label, started by designer Simone Gonzalez back in March 2009, specializes in gorgeous bandage pieces that come at a delightful price. The skirts are absolutely divine and the bandage dresses are every bit as fabulous as their couture counterparts. What I personally love the most about Pleasure Doing Business –besides the wonderful price tag – is that the designs (even though essentially the same as that of any bandage skirt or dress) are so quirky and fun. Printed bandage pieces like these, shown above, are not something you see everywhere and I think the fact that designer Simone is willing to take risks and think out of the box is what has made the label so popular.
With designs like these, it really is no wonder that Pleasure Doing Business’s clientele consists of Mary-Kate, Heidi Klum, Rihanna and then some. You can find yourself a PDB piece at Shopbop, Intermix, or Spoiled Brat.
