What is your feminist philosophy?
Men and women are equal beings and deserve to be treated the same.
Why is feminism important in today’s world?
In a society that continues to sexually exploit women, there needs to be individuals that fight against such ideas. There needs to be people who set a balance and create ways and/or portrayals of women that are positive and humane.
What is the most important feminist cause in your life?
As of right now the depiction of women in the media is the most important feminist cause in my life. With years of being exposed to negative depictions of women in media, I have personally experienced and seen the impact they have.
When did you have your feminist awakening?
When I went from 255 pounds to 165 pounds and still thought I needed to lose weight. When I sat back and realised how small I’d gotten, I realised that I was trying to live up to an image that isn’t healthy or even realistic.
What would have to change before men and women achieved true equality?
Media depictions, power exchange between men and women, and confinements of gender identities would have to change.
Why should men take up the feminist cause?
I feel it is important for men to understand and fully comprehend what women go through on a daily basis. In addition, to see life from a women’s perspective and how divided women are from men.
What’s your advice to other feminists?
Share. Share your experiences, your ideas, and your life. It is through your life that others can be encouraged and become aware.
