Off with her hair!

On March 8th, the world celebrates International Women’s Day. On Friday the 13th of March, women all over Australia, including Nicola Parsons, will be shaving their hair off to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation. For Nicola, this event represents a rite of passage, a tribute to women past who have defied social customs and questioned gender stereotypes. By this time next week, she’ll be a new woman. This is her personal rejection of out-dated social signifiers of femininity, which shape the role of women in society, as well as the self-worth of women everywhere. 
 
She’d love as many of you as possible to be involved in this experience. One way is to sponsor her shave by donating to the Leukaemia Foundation. By doing so you’ll be helping the foundation to support patients and their families all over Australia, as well as funding steps towards finding a cure.
