Perhaps you’re a longtime fan of Melbourne’s Dallas Frasca. Or maybe you first heard of her when you read her interview with Lip’s Angelique Lu, and it piqued your interest. can pinup and feminism go hand in hand?

can pinup and feminism go hand in hand?

By Kaylia Payne on 12 February 2012

I have a confession; one that I never ever thought I would share online, and especially not in the feminist mag that I write for. But at the beginning of last year I entered a pinup competition. Granted, I entered it before I had any real idea of what feminism was, and, like many people, [...]

interview and giveaway: camille

interview and giveaway: camille

By Dunja Nedic on 15 November 2011

Making a living out of music is hard enough, but cracking the English-speaking market when you’re from a non-English-speaking country is another ball game altogether. Camille is one such artist who has managed to find a following here in Australia as well as in her native France. A born and bred Parisian, new mother, and [...]

competition – something to prove?

By Sonya Krzywoszyja on 7 August 2011

Last night was my best friend’s hen’s night and her groom’s buck’s night. They decided to combine the two. It was held on a weeknight for people flying in from another country and, as most of us had time off for the wedding or work or study, we were okay with it being held on [...]

Embody Denim

Embody Denim

By Sonya Krzywoszyja on 23 April 2010

I’m continuing my activist fatigue and indulging in some mindless consumerism. Ok, well, I tried (damn you, Outnet and your 1 pound sale — NO ONE could get on the website last Friday), but there’s nothing I really want or need at the moment. Typical! However, if you want to indulge in some mindless consumerism, [...]

    FEMALE PERCEPTIONS PROGRAM

Every woman’s got one, but what exactly should they look like?

We are conducting a study to examine women’s perceptions of normality and abnormality in a very personal part of the anatomy - women’s genitalia. Taking part in the study involves viewing a range of images of women’s vaginas.

Understanding women’s opinions of what is normal is vital to help understand and promote positive body image. We are seeking women between 18 and 30 who are willing to give us half an hour of their time. Note that the study involves viewing and rating a series of explicit images.

This study forms part of a PhD research project being conducted at The University of Queensland. The study has been approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the School of Psychology.

If you are interested in taking part in this confidential study please contact Claire on 04000 65945 / c.moran1@uq.edu.au, School of Psychology.
