Feminist, Fat, and Fabulous Blog: Sydney Solicitation

Feminist-Fat-Fabulous3-232x300This column is going to be a solicitation column this week.

Oooh dirty!

Ok, not really.

I’m heading down to Sydney with another fat and fabulous person tomorrow afternoon. Can any Sydneysiders recommend us places to shop? I vary from a 12-20 and she’s around a 16-22. Doesn’t just have to be clothing though—shoes and bags and accessories and other stuff would be awesome too.

Places to eat? I’ve already had a lovely friend recommend Counter Burger for their peanut butter milkshakes (peanut butter being my favourite food in existence. No lie. I eat it out of the container. My protein levels are probably through the roof), but anywhere else?

I’d especially like to know if there are any good Japanese places around the city centre or Parramatta. We’re staying with a friend of mine who lives there and she only really knows local places.

Big hugs and kisses in advance! Thanks!

  1. Hey,
Have to second the peanut butter comment.
I know this is too late, but I guess it might help next time!
As for around Parramatta… I’m not so sure, but if you trek out of your way a bit further to the hills district there is a fantastic thai restaurant called “Thai Spy” on Windsor Road. It isn’t upmarket, but the food is fantastic.
There is also a great Indian restaurant in Stanhope Gardens called the ‘New Turban’. Hayashi Teppanyaki in Castle Hill is also pretty decent, as is Mountain View Chinese restaurant in Dural.
I would also recommend City Extra in Parramatta though. There is also a good Bavarian Beer Cafe (no, I don’t like beer but the food is good!).
In the city itself there are plenty- I know a great dumpling place near haymarket but the name escapes me now 😐

As for shopping, mainly hit up the markets- always get some great buys 🙂

  2. Hey, thanks!

I’ll definitely be back, so this is good to know. We went to City Extra the last time I was there for breakfast and it was delicious.
