What is your feminist philosophy?
I believe in equality.

When did you have your feminist awakening?
I suppose it was during college. A lot of my friends are feminists and made me aware of more issues.

Why is feminism important in today’s world?
There is a lot of social change happening in society, but considering that women make up half of the population, it’s still kind of unbelievable that there is still so much discrimination going on. Feminism helps to make people more aware that society doesn’t treat men and women as complete equals and it helps to create change.

What problems do you see in those who participate in feminism regarding race?
One would be that different races are not aware of the way others may be treated. While all feminists are working to promote women’s equality, by not being aware of other factors, it makes it hard to represent all women. I guess it’s unavoidable, but there’s just so many different factors playing into women’s oppression.

What do you want to see the world do to help progress and support women?
Well, I guess the obvious would be to stop discriminating.
