I’m Siobhan, and I love my body
Here at lip, we’re used to talking about embracing and loving ourselves. Positive body image is at the forefront of unlocking our true potential, for flaunting (tastefully) who we are makes for one less challenge to overcome in a world full to the brim with challenges.
I wrote about Jetta Vegas and her Positive Mental Attitude a few days ago and absolutely fell in love with this, as well as other videos of hers. Although this video was made in 2010, it’s still relevant and there is still time to cover the internet with all the things that we love about our bodies.
Our bodies are our sole possession that is truly ours. Ironically, they are one of the blessings that we often take for granted, because it’s just there. We criticise it, we squeeze it into uncomfortable things, we plaster it with shimmery, gooey make-up and creams, but how often do we take the time to appreciate and love it?
Let me go first…
I love my wonky eye. I can never remember which one it is, but it comes up in photos and I really don’t mind it.
I love how fast my hair grows back after I go on a chopping spree with a pair of scissors and shears.
I love my breasts. They’re convenient-sized fun bags that pretty much just chill.
I love the expressions I can make with my face, and movement that my body can have.
I love my knees. I used to hate them and think that they looked like they were on the wrong legs, but now that thought barely crosses my mind.
I love my dimples.
I love my shoulders. For no particular reason, I just do.
I love my body.
So, what do you love about yourself? Don’t be shy! This isn’t about what you have that others don’t, or vice versa. It’s about what you love, and what you have the right to love about your very own body.

I LOVE my hair, it’s wavy and naturally dark red.
I LOVE that i’m not too skinny. I wear a 10 and i’m proud of my curvy bits!
Speaking of curvy bits, I LOVE my breasts too. They’re pretty awesome.
I LOVE the clothes i wear. I’m always happy and comfy.
I LOVE how short i am. (I’m 5″nothing’) I don’t have to duck under things!
And… I LOVE that there are people out there who love me for what i am 🙂
