morning

Hi all,

To continue on a coffee theme… I couldn’t turn the hot water tap on in the shower on this morning. It had been dripping so Allan turned it off really, really tight. Any other time but before 10.00am I would have fought with it until my strength overcame the tap tightness, but being I just got up, I couldn’t muster the energy. So, I went showerless and had time for a morning cup of coffee, something I almost never have.

So, I had my coffee and then made my way to the bus stop, where I sat next to this dreadlocked, cute young women that I’d seen at the bus stop once or twice before. I decided to talk to her. And proceeded to chat her head off while we were waiting for the bus and on the bus as well. I told her about lip, talked about work and all sorts of stuff. I did ask her about herself as well and found out she was studying geology at ANU and had worked as a road builder over the summer.

Anyway, half the time I’m thinking to myself, “Rachel, you probably should shut up, this poor girl doesn’t know you”, aware that I was probably being wierd. But the coffee had me in this perky, chatty mood. I’m never like that in the morning and have trouble talking at all. It’s so funny what coffee can do.

I hope I didn’t freak her out. I want her to write an article for lip about being the only girl on a road-building team!

See ya!
